Internship Opportunity

Summary Position Description: This individual would be expected to provide assistance to Senator Stamas and members of his staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management, and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include answering phones, monitoring legislation, research and written correspondence to groups and individuals within the 36th District. Students will gain valuable hands-on office experience in a fast paced environment. Hours are negotiable.

Qualifications: Related office experience and a High School Diploma are required. Excellent telephone, written communication skills, and a positive attitude preferred. Legislative experience and a basic understanding of computer office programs are helpful.

Status: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator.)

This is a non-civil service, at-will position.
