Michigan State Senator John Moolenaar authored this legislation to allow all qualified construction companies access to bidding on publicly funded contracts. Currently some public entities allow bids only from companies with union membership. SB165 opens those contracts to companies with nonunion employees as well. This guarantees the most efficient use of public dollars.
