Tuesday, March 13, 2007

LANSING-State Sen. Roger Kahn has been appointed by Senate Majority Leader Michael Bishop to the Midwestern Legislative Conference (MLC) Health and Human Services Committee. As part of the Council of State Governments, the MLC provides the opportunity for state lawmakers throughout the Midwest to meet and interact with one another to discuss concerns facing the region.

"I look forward to the constructive dialogue with other Midwestern legislators on how they are dealing with the critical issue of health," said Kahn, R-Saginaw. "This is a unique opportunity to study new ideas and learn from leading experts on health policy from other states."

MLC committee members participate in conference calls throughout the year and examine vital issues on a nonpartisan basis. Members also meet in person once or twice a year. The MLC's 62nd annual meeting is in Traverse City from August 26-29.
