LANSING — Sen. Judy Emmons announced today that mid-Michigan residents looking for a job or considering a career change have an outstanding resource at their disposal: A new state talent and jobs website.
“The recently launched Pure Michigan Talent Connect website offers valuable tools and information on finding a new job or starting a new career,” said Emmons, R-Sheridan. “The comprehensive site is designed to help connect job seekers with employers, and I encourage all mid-Michigan workers who are unemployed or looking to get ahead to take advantage of this useful job search site.”

“The Michigan Job Portal and Talent Bank are great ways to find a good-paying job,” Emmons said. “Just as important are the Career Matchmaker and Career Investment Calculator that help individuals identify what field best fits their experience and determine the value of additional training. These are part of the site’s goal to assist people who are taking the often intimidating step of re-entering the workforce or starting a new career.”
Other useful information highlighted on the MiTalent site include materials specific to veterans and entrepreneurs, such as the Pure Michigan Mentor Network, small business resources, Military Skills Translator and veterans job search sites.
“While Michigan’s economy is improving, many people are still looking for work,” Emmons said. “The state created this website to assist jobs seekers find employment – combining Michigan’s numerous resources for helping our workers, veterans and business innovators with new tools in a way that is easy to use.”
