Sen. Roger Kahn, R-Saginaw Township, honored the Catholic Federal Credit Union on reaching the milestone of awarding $1 million in scholarships to local students. The scholarship program was established in 1982 in remembrance of Monsignor Eugene A. Forbes legacy. Since then, more than 2,000 scholarships have been awarded. Senate Bill 764 would classify cadmium and mercury as heavy metals and add them to the states toxic substance list for childrens products. LANSING - Sen. Roger Kahn, R-Saginaw Township, (right) and Maple Grove Fire Department Chief Tom Quaderer (left) joined Lt. Gov. Brian Calley Tuesday as a measure to help train future firefighters was signed into law. Sponsored by Kahn, Public Act 153 of 2011 (Senate Bill 212) provides for a firefighter training program for high school students 16 years or older. LANSING - Sen. Roger Kahn, M.D., joined Gov. Rick Snyder Wednesday as measures to help fund state Medicaid were signed into law. Public Act 23 of 2010 (Senate Bill 722) requires hospitals to adopt an immunization policy concerning influenza consistent with current recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. (3/25/2010)

Kahn, R-Saginaw Township, received the Oral Health Champion award from the Michigan Oral Health Coalition during the group’s annual gathering in Lansing on March 10.
