Sen. John Moolenaar, R-Midland, and House Majority Floor Leader Jim Stamas, R-Midland, honored the life and sacrifice of U.S. Navy Corpsman Aaron "Doc" Ullom at the Michigan Capitol. Ullom was killed in Afghanistan in July while saving the life of a marine. Moolenaar (left) and Stamas (right) offered their condolences to Ullom's parents, Kevin and Debi Bartley-Ullom, and presented them with a memorial tribute signed by Gov. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. Department of Defense upon Americas employers for providing exceptional support to their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Sen. Gov. Rick Snyder has signed legislation that would protect all Michigan construction workers and firms from being discriminated against and denied work opportunities based on their labor status. Sen. John Moolenaar, sponsor of Senate Bill 165, said the measure is one of the most significant reforms enacted this year by Michigan policymakers.
