Full-Time Positions

  • Senate Majority Staff - Policy Advisor
    Under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader and supervised by the Director of the Senate Majority Policy Office (SMPO), the Policy Advisor serves as the subject matter expert in the policy and budget fields assigned to the Policy Advisor by the Director. The Policy Advisor identifies and develops public policy initiatives, analyzes legislation and appropriations from a Majority Caucus perspective, and assists Senate Majority Caucus Members in their constitutionally mandated role of overseeing state government.
  • Senator Huizenga – District Director
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the District Director attends meetings with constituents and other stakeholders in the Senator’s district on behalf of the Senator or with the Senator directly. The District Director is responsible for tracking and attending district events and serves at the Senator’s representative in the district. This position is a part-time opportunity. Travel throughout the district is required as well as morning, nights, and weekends as necessitated by required meetings.
  • Senator Moss – Legislative Director
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Legislative Director develops and implements legislative initiatives on behalf of the Senate Member and monitors other legislative developments. More specifically, the Legislative Director attends committees and session; coordinates committee meetings that the Senate Member chairs; assists with drafting legislation, amendments, and talking points; monitors bills throughout the legislative process; and testifies in legislative committees on behalf of the Senate Member. As necessary, the Legislative Director attends meetings and corresponds with officials, constituents, and special interest groups regarding legislation.
  • Senator Runestad - Constituent Relations Aide
    Under the direction of the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Constituent Relations Aide manages constituent casework for the Senate Member’s office, often serving as a liaison between constituents and state departments to resolve various issues for constituents.

Part-Time Positions

  • Senator Cavanagh - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Constituent Services and Scheduling Manager ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management. Some responsibilities will include preparing written correspondence, constituent casework, and administrative duties.
  • Senator Chang - Community and Constituent Services Associate
    Under the direction of the Director of Constituent Services, in consultation with the Senate Member and Chief of Staff, the Community and Constituent Services Associate manages relationships/correspondence with community groups, associations, block clubs, and other community partners.
  • Senator Polehanki - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Constituent Services and Scheduling Manager ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management. Some responsibilities will include preparing written correspondence, constituent casework, and administrative duties.
  • Senator Santana - Scheduler
    Under the direction of Senator Santana and the Chief of Staff, the Scheduler oversees the Senator’s schedule and coordinates office attendance at District Events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering incoming phone calls and addressing questions from constituents; assists with the scheduling and coordination of meetings and other events; assisting with the drafting of legislation and amendments; tracking a variety of bills throughout the legislative process; maintains office supplies; representing the Senator at district events; attending meetings on behalf of the Senator; and speaking publicly on legislative matters.
