Visitor Information

The majority of Senator and administrative offices are housed in the Binsfeld Office Building, located at 201 Townsend Street, Lansing MI 48933. The Binsfeld Office Building is dedicated to former Lieutenant Governor Connie Binsfeld and is open to the public. The building is open Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. The Binsfeld Office Building is closed on Michigan’s state holidays except for Election Day.

Senate leadership offices and a number of other offices are housed in the Michigan Capitol, located at 100 N Capitol Ave, Lansing MI 48933. The Michigan Capitol is open to visitors year-round, Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. The Michigan Capitol is closed on Michigan’s state holidays except for Election Day.

Parking

Parking is available in the Senate-owned Townsend parking ramp that is located directly behind the Binsfeld Office Building at 221 Townsend Street, Lansing MI 48933. Information regarding street parking, ramps, and surface lots owned by the City of Lansing can be found here.

Visitor Security

When entering the Binsfeld Office Building, please stop by the Senate Police Desk in the Townsend Lobby to obtain a visitor pass. Picture ID is required.

Frequent visitors may request a Frequent Visitor Pass. Please fill out this form either online or in person. The cost for this pass is $20 and can be paid either by cash or check payable to the Michigan Senate.

Visitor Conduct in Senate Work Areas

All visitors of the Michigan Senate should familiarize themselves with the Rules and Regulations Regarding Conduct in Senate Work Areas and comply with signs posted in Senate spaces as well as with the directions of Michigan Senate Police Department personnel or other authorized individuals.

Discriminatory and Sexual Harassment Policy

The Michigan Senate’s discriminatory and sexual harassment policy, which applies to all Senators, Senate employees, and interns, as well as to interactions involving visitors of the Senate and any Senator, Senate employee, or intern, can be found here.

Public Wireless Access

The Michigan Legislature's public wireless network is called "LegislatureGuest". You will be asked to accept the Use Policy before gaining access. A username and password are not required.
