This request is for $1.5 million in operating support for Detroit Parent Network (DPN), an almost 25-year old nonprofit serving families across Michigan with a proven model for training, engaging, and empowering parents to better support their children’s health and education. Families often experience state, federal, and local programs as difficult to access and navigate, resulting in the underutilization and decreased impact of funded resources and efforts. DPN leads critical work in helping families across Michigan access and utilize these resources and programs to support their children and families. This model leverages existing state, federal, and local funds to support the health and education of children and families through a prevention focused approach, contributing to strong communities, an engaged citizenry, and a thriving Michigan.
